Sara Rishell Named to CCSA Preseason Watch List

The Smithsburg, Maryland, native is one of eight student-athletes selected to the inaugural CCSA Preseason Watch List for the conference’s debut beach volleyball season. The conference also releases its 2016 Preseason All-Conference selections.
Rishell competed the majority of the 2015 season at the third position compiling a 14-12 record, which was tied for the second-best individual total on the Blazers’ squad.
Her highlight victories in 2015 include a win over CCSA conference member Tulane at the Tulane Pairs/Duals Tournament last March.
Rishell also won a string of six consecutive matches at the Blazers Beach Duals Tournament to help UAB finish 3-1 during the tournament.
The Blazers begin the 2016 season at Mercer on Saturday, March 5.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Graduate student Sara Rishell was selected to the Preseason Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Beach Volleyball Watch List, as announced by the CCSA on Wednesday.
