BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB cross country team caps off October action as it heads to the 2016 Conference USA Cross Country Championships in Charlotte, N.C. The women’s 5K race is slated to begin at 8 a.m. at Frank Liske Park.
The Blazers are set to face 12 teams including Rice, ranked No. 5 in the South Region, who is the defending C-USA Champion.
UAB enters the race after competing at the Crimson Classic two weeks ago. The Blazers are finally back at full strength, as they will race with a healthy Hannah Coffin and Victoria Roughsedge, who missed the Crimson Classic due to sickness.
In 2015, UAB finished 11th thanks to a strong showing by Lucy Crookes, who finished 12th oerall with at time of 18:06.0. Rebecca Evans, who has posted the team’s top time in 2016, looks to improve upon a 24th overall finish in the 2015 Championships.
Real time results will be posted at Flash Results and on the C-USA Cross Country Championship Central home page along with photo galleries, results and awards following the race. Admission is free.
