Blazers Open 2015 Cross Country Season Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB cross country team will open its 2015 season this weekend when the Blazers travel to Nashville, Tenn. to participate in the Belmont Opener. The meet is scheduled to begin Saturday at 9 a.m. CT.
UAB started its 2014 season at the Belmont Opener and finished sixth of 12 teams. Sarah Livett, now a junior on the team, was the Blazers’ top individual finisher as the native of Benllech, Wales placed 21st.
"We are looking forward to finally seeing the hard work from the first part of the season pay off,” said first-year UAB cross country coach Matt Esche. “The off-season is essential to a successful year. Belmont has always provided a great barometer for us this early in the year.
“We won't be at full strength for another couple weeks but I have full confidence that our ladies will execute their game plans.”
