Blazers Win Nine Of 11 At Southern Miss Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – For the second straight day, the UAB men’s tennis team turned in an outstanding performance as the Blazers competed at the Southern Miss Intercollegiate.
The Blazers won nine of 11 matches Sunday against teams from Southern Miss, South Alabama and New Orleans after winning 11 of 15 Saturday.
UAB swept singles play with the Privateers with Christian Coetzee, Eric Komati, Luiz Pinto, Mitchell Martell, Oliver Poysti and Stepan Vancurik all grabbing straight set victories.
USM won two of three in doubles against UAB with Komati and Martell winning over Tarun Surat and Daniel Merker, 6-2.
The Blazers won both doubles matches against the Jaguars with Coetzee and Pinto teaming together for victories, along with Komati and Martell.
