BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB sand volleyball team will host Mercer on Wednesday in its final home match of the season. The teams are scheduled to begin play at 12 p.m. CT at the UAB Sand Courts.
UAB (6-8) has won four of its last five matches heading into the contest. The Blazers are also 3-2 in matches played in Birmingham.

Two pairs have reached 10 wins this season, as seniors Kiriana Hirini and Bethanie Thomas have a 10-7 record at the No. 1 position. Senior Becca Howard and freshman Avei Logoleo are 10-6 this season competing at the No. 5 position.
In the most recent tournament, the Blazers split in dual matches. UAB defeated College of Charleston, 3-2, before falling to No. 7 Georgia State, 3-2.
Hirini and Thomas highlighted the pairs tournament, making it all the way to the championship match of the Gold Bracket.
