Men's Tennis Falls To No. 70 ODU, 6-1

NORFOLK, Va. ---- The UAB men's tennis team wrapped up its two-match road trip to Virginia Sunday with a 6-1 Conference USA loss to No. 70-ranked Old Dominion at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
The Blazers (5-10, 0-4 C-USA) gained a win at No. 2 singles as Donovan McSeveney defeated the Monarchs Michael Weindl, 6-4, 7-5.
Mitchell Martell and Trey McCombs were winners at No. 3 doubles, downing the ODU pair of Zvonimir Podvinski and Theophile Lanthiez, 8-2.
Old Dominion (14-2, 4-0) won in straight sets at each of the other singles positions to put the match away.
The Blazers return to their homecourts at Lakeshore Tennis Center this week for three dual matches. UAB plays host to Jackson State on Wednesday, April 8 and will meet Alabama A&M on Thursday and UAH on Friday. All three matches are scheduled to start at 12 p.m. CT.
