Student-Athlete Of The Week: Rebecca Chandler

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Sophomore Rebecca Chandler of the UAB women's golf team was named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Tuesday. The Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off their respective fields of competition.
Chandler has helped lead the Blazers throughout the 2014-15 season, competing in eight tournaments with an average score of 79 this season. She most recently carded a career low, 2-under, 70, Monday at the 2015 Conference USA Women's Golf Championships. She's shaved three strokes off her average from last year and has two top-25 finishes this season.
In the classroom, Chandler has maintained a 3.94 GPA majoring in management, and has earned the C-USA Academic Medal for her efforts off the course in each of her two seasons with the Blazers. She has also been named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll each of those years.
Chandler and the Blazers conclude the 2014-15 season Wednesday with the final round of the league tournament in Fort Myers, Fla.
