Bowling Closes Regular Season At Music City Classic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The No. 16 UAB bowling team will conclude the regular season this weekend at the Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn.
UAB (54-41) will compete in the three-day tournament that runs Friday through Sunday at Smyrna Bowl. The Blazers are one of 29 teams, including 17 that are ranked in the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll.
The tournament schedule has been adjusted for team travel due to weather. Teams that are already in Smyrna will compete in round robin play that will not count towards the tournament standings.
Once all teams have arrived, Saturday will feature six team games and Sunday they will play six, five-game Baker matches. The tournament champion will be based on total pinfall from Saturday and Sunday.
The Blazers most recently competed in the Stormin' Jack Classic where they finished 14th. Freshman Jessica Mellott earned her first top-10 finish as an individual after placing eighth overall. Mellott averaged 212.33 and finished over 200 in five of the six games.
