Student-Athlete Of The Week: Mandy McGee

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Mandy McGee of the UAB women’s rifle team was named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Monday. The Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off their respective fields of competition.
The Florence, Ala. native has been a leader for the rifle program both competitively and in the classroom. She posted a personal-best score of 556 earlier this year at Murray State and helped lead the Blazers to a sixth-place finish as a team at Wofford last weekend after breaking her earlier career-best with a score of 564.
In the classroom, McGee has maintained a 3.16 GPA over her time with the Blazers earning her degree in nursing. McGee and the rifle team return to action Feb. 14 with action at Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C.
