Student-Athlete Of The Week: Paul Dunne

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Senior Paul Dunne of the UAB men's golf team was named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Tuesday. The Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off their respective fields of competition.
The Greystones, Ireland native finished in a tie for 15th place overall at 5-over (74-72-69=215) recently at the Gator Invitational. He steadily improved each round, moving up eight spots Sunday with a 1-under 69. Dunne has recorded five rounds under par and one tournament under par. He leads UAB with a 72.3 stroke average and has finished in the top-15 in four of the five tournament so far this season.
Dunne has also been a consistent student in the classroom as well, maintaining a 3.82 GPA to this point in his career. He was named a CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American last season, and also earned Conference USA All-Academic Team honors. He has been named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll each year at UAB and was a recipient of the Academic Medal in each of the last two seasons.
