Men's Tennis Wraps Up Play At Southern Miss Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. ---- The UAB men's tennis team wrapped up play Saturday at the Southern Miss Fall Invitational as the Blazers won eight of 12 matches on the final day of action.
UAB, which won nine matches Friday on the first day of play, swept all six singles matches Saturday against Alabama State and claimed one doubles match against both host Southern Miss and South Alabama.
Matthew Hill and Charles McCombs accounted for both doubles victories, winning at No. 3 against the Golden Eagles and No. 2 against the Jaguars. The Blazer tandem defeated USM's Mikhal Esipov and Tarun Surat, 8-6, while defeating USA's Manuel Belda and Quincy Olij, 8-4.
Hill, McCombs, Christian Coetzee, Luiz Felipe Pinto, Mitchell Martell and Oliver Poysti were the Blazers' singles winners against Alabama State.
