Blazer Football Hosting First Annual Sons of UAB Game

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Former UAB football players are invited to participate in the First Annual Sons of UAB Flag Football game this Saturday.
The event will be held at Legion Field at approximately 1 p.m. following the Blazers' football scrimmage. UAB assistant coach Daric Riley, along with Assistant AD for Athletic Training Mike Jones and Strength and Conditioning Coach Zac Woodfin, are organizing the event.
Head coach Bill Clarksaid he wants to reach out to the former players who form the foundation of the Blazers' program.
"We wanted to have a special day for them where we specifically invited those guys to come to practice," he said. "They will hang out with us, we'll feed them and they'll play flag football.
"These guys didn't play for me, but I want them to feel like they're a part of our team and our family, so we're excited."
