Sand Volleyball Prepared For No. 9 FIU Monday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB sand volleyball team will take on No. 9 FIU in the Diggin’ Duals tournament hosted by Georgia State. The Blazers and the Panthers will play at 6 p.m. CT.

UAB is coming off its first game of the season on Saturday against Mercer. The Blazers fell to the Bears, 3-2 at home. The top pair of Kiriana Hirini and Bethanie Thomas had a win and Sam Serley and Alison Woods teamed up for a win in the match.

FIU is coming off wins in the UNF Sand Volleyball Tournament last week. The Panthers had wins over Georgia State, 3-2, and South Carolina, 5-0, on the final day.

The Blazers will remain on the road to take on Mercer in a rematch on March 14.
