Bowling Second After First Day At Hornet Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The UAB bowling team won three of its five matches on Friday to finish the first day in second place at the Hornet Classic.
UAB finished the day 3-2 with a total pinfall of 4567, just behind Tulane who posted a 4741 total pinfall.
The Blazers won their first quad baker match of the day, finishing with a score of 914 to top Florida A&M. In the second match of the day, UAB fell to Tulaen 1006-959.
The team rebounded with another win in the third match, defeating Texas Southern, 1035-835. UAB kept the momentum going in the fourth match finishing with a score of 865 to move to 3-1 heading into the final match.
UAB dropped its last match of the day to Bethune-Cookman, 889-794 to finish 3-2 on the day.
Teams will compete in the traditional games on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. CT.
