BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB cross country team is set to compete at the NCAA South Regional in Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday at 8 a.m. CT at the Apalachee Regional Park.
The Blazers line up against 30 other teams, including Conference USA foes Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss. UAB will take off from box 20, next to four-time defending south regional champion No. 13 Florida State and North Florida.
Junior Lucy Crookes leads the Blazers with a 17:10.7 5K at the C-USA Championships on Nov. 1. Crookes took eighth overall on her way to Second Team All-C-USA honors. Freshman Rebecca Evans joined Crookes on the All-C-USA Second Team, coming in 12th at the conference championships. Sophomore Sarah Livett rounded out UAB’s all-conference runners, crossing the line in 16th place for third team accolades.

At last season’s south regional, the Blazers finished 16th overall, as Elinor Kirk took fifth with a 20:07.7. Livett was the second UAB runner to finish, crossing the line in 83rd with a time of 21:50.1.
