Student-Athlete Of The Week: Stewart Abrahart

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Redshirt junior Stewart Abrahart of the UAB men’s soccer team was named the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Monday. The Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes student-athletes who excel on and off their respective fields of competition.
The Duluth, Ga. native is in his fourth season with the men’s soccer program. He has a 3.62 GPA majoring in economics analysis and policy and has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor roll every year since arriving to UAB back in 2011.
On the field, Abrahart has been a key member of the UAB backline helping the Blazers record two shutouts. He has also played a part offensively for the Blazers with three assists this season, all of which he totaled in three-straight UAB victories. He has played in 45 games for the Green and Gold in his four-year career and has tallied five assists.
Abrahart and the Blazers return home to West Campus Field for their final two home matches this week. UAB hosts top-25 team New Mexico at 7 p.m. Wednesday night and will close the home slate with senior night Saturday against Old Dominion at 7 p.m.
