Clements Named C-USA Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB quarterback Cody Clements has been named the Conference USA Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week following his performance last Saturday in the Blazers' 56-21 victory over North Texas.
Clements, a junior from Whittier, Calif., hit 77 percent of his passes as he threw for 316 yards on only 22 attempts (completing 17) and a pair of touchdowns in the 35-point victory. Clements also ran for a touchdown as UAB posted its highest point total in 53 games.
Clements now ranks No. 4 nationally in the latest NCAA statistics in completion percentage at 70.6 percent and is No. 9 in passing efficiency.. Clements has completed 83 percent of his passes (39-of-47) over the past two games and has thrown for 300 or more yards the last two games, both UAB victories.
Clements, who transferred to UAB from Cerritos (Calif.) College and enrolled in January, will now get ready for Saturday's C-USA contest at Middle Tennessee. The game with the Blue Raiders is set for 2:30 p.m. CT and will be televised by FOX College Sports.
