UAB Extends Football Series With Troy

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB has extended its football series with Troy, adding games to the 2015 and 2016 schedules, officials from the two schools announced on Tuesday.
The Blazers and Trojans, who have played 11 times in previous seasons, will meet early in the schedule for both 2015 and 2016. The teams are scheduled to play at Troy on Sept. 26, 2015 before UAB plays host to the Trojans on Sept. 17, 2016.
The upcoming 2014 matchup in Birmingham between the two teams will be the season opener for both, the UAB coaching debut for new Blazers' head coach Bill Clark, and will mark the sixth consecutive year that the schools have played on the football field.
UAB and Troy played for the first time during the 1993 season.
The Blazers previously announced new home and home series with Georgia State and South Alabama, playing both teams during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
