Blazer Tennis Back In Action This Weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB men's tennis team is back in action this weekend when the Blazers travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to participate in the Dale Short Shootout.
The three-day event will be held Friday through Sunday at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. Joining the Blazers in the tournament will be host Middle Tennessee, Lipscomb and Southern Illinois.
UAB opened its 2013 fall schedule last weekend with an outstanding showing at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga. Senior Chris Helliar went 6-0 and did not lose a set en route to capturing the Division II singles title. Fellow senior Rafael Rondino along with Blazer newcomers Mitchell Martell and Donovan McSeveny also played in the event.
