Blazers Sixth After First Day Of Hornet Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The UAB bowling team ended the first day of competition in sixth place at the Hornet Classic on Friday.
The Blazers finished with three wins and are just 17 points out of third place with a total of 3,581. UAB earned wins over Florida A&M, Southern and Jackson State to open the tournament.
The team competed in five matches today, each match consisting of four baker games, one in which UAB posted its highest baker game ever as a team with a 255. That score contributed to an 803 series over four games.
It was the second-highest match total of the day behind No. 6 Sam Houston State’s 818 in the first match. Sam Houston State is currently in the lead with a total pinfall of 3,728.
Day two of the Hornet Classic will begin on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. CT.
