BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB cross country heads to Denton, Texas this weekend as the Blazers run in the 2013 Conference USA Championship.
The 5K women's race, which will feature 15 C-USA teams, will be contested Saturday morning at the Eagle Point Cross Country Course on the University of North Texas campus. The meet is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
UAB will be led by graduate student Elinor Kirk. Kirk is one of the pre-meet individual favorites after finishing as the Blazers' top finisher in every meet this season. UAB teammate Kate Brown is another returning All-Conference USA honoree as she finished 20th a year ago.
UAB is listed No. 15 in the most recent USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) South Regional rankings.
