Bowling's Leah Walker Named UAB SAOW

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Leah Walker of the Blazer bowling team was recently named Student Athlete of the Week for her excellence in the classroom and on the lanes.
Walker has accumulated a 3.47 grade point average as a communications major with a concentration in broadcasting, while also minoring in film.
A native of Dallas, Ga., Walker was named a National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic selection and to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll last spring.
Walker has been one of the top bowlers for the Blazers during the course of the 2012-13 campaign. Through two tournaments this semester, she posted a 175.8 pin fall average at the Mid Winter Invitational at Arkansas State and a 157.3 average at the Lady Bulldog Challenge hosted by Bowie State.
