BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB football team held its final pre-Spring Game practice Friday evening on campus.
The Blazers worked out in shoulder pads and helmets for a little over an hour, putting in final preparations before taking the field against each other on Saturday.
The Spring Game is set for Saturday at Noon at West Campus Field as part of Blazer FanFest. The activities get started at 9 a.m. with inflatables, face painting, a balloon artist and a performance by the BeatLads, a Beatles tribute band.
The day closes with game two of the UAB baseball team's weekend series against Gardner-Webb across the street at Young Memorial Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. Admission is free to both the Spring Game and the Blazer baseball game.
Friday's football practice was the 13th for the Blazers this spring under first-year head coach Garrick McGee.
All practices and scrimmages have been open to the public, but Saturday's Spring Game will be the first time for fans to see the new-look Blazers in game action.
