Rifle Fires Past Wofford Men's Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ---- SirLinda Gee and Autumn Stockwell individually captured first and second place finishes as the UAB Rifle team defeated Wofford 2,205-2,198 in closely contested match over the weekend.
The teams squared off in the air rifle competition, which Gee took top honors in with a score of 580. She fired rounds of 97, 94, 97, 99, 96 and 97 for the match.
Stockwell, who zoned in for a score of 572, behind only Gee, tallied rounds of 94, 95, 97, 97, 93 and 96.
Other Blazers who contributed to the victory included Maegan Sisk (537), Morgan Fancher (516) and Abigail Duke (516).
Wofford's men's team was led by Stephen Bryant's third place finish of 569.
It marked the second time this season that UAB defeated a men's squad. The other also came on the road at The Citadel.
The rifle team is back at the range on Jan. 26 with a match at Memphis.
