Zimmerman Wins Singles Title At Crimson Tide Invite

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ----- UAB junior David Zimmerman claimed a singles championship Sunday at the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational.
Zimmerman won his fourth match in three days -- all in straight sets -- as he captured the Namath draw at the University of Alabama courts.
On Sunday, the Waldronn, Germany native cruised past Alabama sophomore Danill Proskura in the Namath final, 6-1, 6-4, to win the title.
Zimmerman's road to the title included wins over Mauricia Antun of Virginia Tech (6-1, 6-4), Alex Christ of Furman (6-1, 6-2) and Adam Lee of Wake Forest (7-5, 6-3) before his win Sunday over Proskura.
