C-USA Championship Final Results
HATTIESBURG, Miss. --The UAB women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Conference USA Women's Golf Championship on Tuesday at Canebrake Golf Club. Freshman Ana Martin posted the best 54-hole score for the Blazers, carding a 236 (81-76-79) to finish 40th.
"It was great for Ana to have her best finish of the season at the conference championship because she's worked really hard," head coach Kim Wilcox said. "As a team, we rebounded from a rough first day and played better the second, but we couldn't carry that momentum in the final day, so obviously we're disappointed."
Tulane took home the team title for the second straight year, posting a conference tournament record 858. East Carolina finished second with a score of 872, while Tulsa jumped up a spot on the final day to finish third at 889.
Tulane's Ashley McKenney fired a 3-under-par 210 (70-68-72) to take medalist honors. UTEP's Shang Huang, Tulane's Janine Fellows and ECU's Abby Bools tied for second with a 54-hole total of 212.
UAB finished with a score of 973 (330-312-331). Junior Carolyn Cochran finished just behind Martin, tying for 41st with a 54-hole total of 237 (77-76-84). Junior Jaime Brabb shot a 247, while Lindsay Taylor and Sloan Davis each carded a 256.
