Blazers Post Strong Showing In Rifle Win Over Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- UAB shooters posted four of the top five scores as the Blazer rifle team defeated Wofford by a score of 2,256 to 2,168 in an air rifle competition on Oct. 9.
SirLinda Gee took the top spot individually with a score of 580. Gee scored no worse than 93 on any of her six attempts and recorded a score of 99 on two of her shots. She finished six points ahead of second-place Stephen Bryant from Wofford.
The Blazers then occupied the next three positions. Suzanne Moore finished third with a score of 566, followed by Heather Searcy and Autumn Stockwell in a tie for fourth at 555.
Other UAB competitors included Abigail Duke (512), Morgan Fancher (498) and Maegan Sisk (465).
The UAB rifle team will return to action when it competes at the Jacksonville State Gamecock Invitational on Nov. 21.
