Tight End Anderson Named Preseason All-Conference USA

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB tight end Jeffery Anderson has been named to the preseason All-Conference USA team as selected by the league's media.
Two media representatives of each C-USA school participated in the media poll.
Anderson, a 6-3, 255-pound junior, was tabbed to the second-team preseason squad. He finished third among the Blazers last season in receptions with 23. He was second in receiving yardage with 368 yards and also led the team in receiving touchdowns with three.
Anderson averaged 16.0 yards per reception as he started the first nine games of the season.
Anderson and fellow tight end Zach Lankford give UAB a formidable duo at the position. Combined, the pair totaled 39 catches for 568 yards and five touchdowns in 2008.
The official preseason All-Conference USA team, as selected by the league's head coaches, will be released on Tuesday.
