Blazers Finish 13th At Lady Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - The UAB women's golf team shot a 328 during Sunday's final round of play to finish the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate in 13th place with a 54-hole score of 889. The Blazers carded rounds of 324, 334 and 328 over three days at the Country Club of Oxford.
Tulane won the team title after recording rounds of 300, 295 and 294 to finish with a total score of 889, which was 12 strokes in front of the second-place team.
Host-school Ole Miss placed second with a 901 and Oregon State took third with a score of 912.
Ole Miss' Dori Carter and Linn Gustafsson of Tulane tied for the individual title after tallying a total of 217 each.
Sophomore Lindsay Taylor lead UAB's efforts and tied for 37th overall with rounds of 79, 84 and 75 to finish at 238. Fellow sophomore Jaime Brabb tied for the 43rd spot with a total of 241 over the 54 holes.
Seniors Christina Wentworth and Alyson Mitchell finished with scores of 247 and 260, respectively, to tie for 58th and 72nd place. Freshman Kristin Lottman concluded the tournament in 75th after carding a 272.
"We improved a few strokes from yesterday, but still did not play our best golf," said UAB head coach Kim Wilcox. "We have a week to prepare for the conference championship tournament. Hopefully, we can improve and have a good showing."
The Blazers will be back on the links on April 12-14 when they compete in the Conference USA Championship in Tulsa, Okla.
