West Swings Way To Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- With the start of the spring golf season right around the corner, junior men's golfer Adam West has been named the UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
West enters the spring campaign with a career stroke average of 74.07 after a fall season that saw him post his best career finish at the Blazers' Shoal Creek Intercollegiate. The junior from Montgomery, Ala., fired a final-round 67 to close the event in a tie for fourth place at 3-over-par.
In the classroom, West has maintained a 3.19 GPA as an accounting major. Following the 2007-08 academic year, he earned recognition on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
West and the Blazer men's golf team hit the course for their spring opener Feb. 14 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
