UAB Rifle Team Finishes Seventh At UT Martin Invitational

MARTIN, Tenn. ----- The UAB rifle team finished seventh here Saturday at the 2008 UT Martin Invitational Rifle Tournament.
The Blazers totaled 1,931 points to finish seventh of eight teams in the field. Jacksonville State captured first place with a team score of 2,331 with Murray State (2,312) second and Memphis (2,288) in third place. Rounding out the team standings were UT Martin (Women) at 2,226, UT Martin (Mixed) at 2,189, Rose Hulman at 2,175, UAB 1,931 and Mercer at 1,841.
Individually, UAB was led by senior Rebecca Blair who scored 531 in the air rifle competition. The Blazers' Tiffany Acker scored 498, Heather Searcy 465 and Suzanne Moore at 437.
Jacksonville State's Jonathan Hall was the individual winner at 590.
