Hilligoss Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Elizabeth Hilligoss, a senior on the UAB cross country team, has been named this week's UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Hilligoss is a three-time All-Conference USA honoree and a two-time All-South Region pick.
Hilligoss has run in one race this season, placing 12th with a time of 18:56.53 at the Crimson Classic, Sept. 14. Her performance at the meet helped the Blazers run away with a first place finish.
In addition to being named All-Conference USA three times in her career, Hilligoss was the 2004 C-USA Freshman of the Year.
The Houston, Texas native is majoring in early childhood education at UAB.
The Blazers will next be action on Sept. 28 when they travel to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
