Blazers Take 11th Place At Lady Jaguar Invitational

MOBILE, Ala. - The UAB women's golf team completed the University of South Alabama's Lady Jaguar Invitational on Tuesday in 11th place. The Blazers tallied a two-round score of 619 to finish 11th out of 20 teams competing.
Middle Tennessee State hung on to its first-day lead to claim the tournament title with a combined score of 591. Jacksonville State finished 14 strokes behind the leader to take second with a two-round total of 604. Lamar and Winthrop both shot team scores of 606 to tie for the third position.
Senior Jennifer Head was UAB's top performer, shooting a six-over 150 to tie for 15th place overall. Head shot rounds of 74 and 76, respectively, to lead the Blazers.
Freshman Carolyn Cochran also concluded the invitational in the top 20 with a score of 151 to finish in a tie for 19th place. Cochran shot an even-par round of 72 on day one, followed by a 79 on the final day of competition.
Sophomore Alyson Mitchell finished with a two-round total of 160, placing her in a tie for the 71st spot. Sophomore Christina Wentworth shot a 162 to tie for 81st place and senior Martha Hudson tied for 84th with a score of 164.
The Blazers will swing back into action on March 23 when they compete in the University of Cincinnati Spring Invitational.
