Blazer Cross Country Team Set For UAH Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB cross country team will be back in action Saturday as the Blazers travel to Huntsville, Ala. to participate in the UAH Invitational.
Unlike last week when head coach Ray Stanfield took a squad of all returning runners to the Belmont Opener in Nashville, the Blazers will have a youthful look Saturday as Stanfield is planning to take primarily freshmen to Huntsville.
UAB opened the 2006 season last Friday by winning the Belmont meet, edging three-time defending Southeastern Conference champion Tennessee, 57-58.
The Blazers are expected to have seven freshmen among their lineup when the meet begins Saturday morning in Huntsville.
