UAB To Hold Football Fan Day This Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The start of the 2006 football season is less than two weeks away, but the UAB Blazers will kick things off this coming weekend when UAB Football Fan Day is held. Fan Day activities will take place on Saturday, August 26 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on the concourse in Bartow Arena.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet the Blazer football team and get autographs from all of the UAB players and coaches.
Admission and parking are free, so bring your family and friends for an exciting afternoon of Blazer football as we kickoff the 2006 season.
UAB opens its 2006 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 when the Blazers travel to Norman, Okla. to take on the No. 5-ranked Oklahoma Sooners. The contest will be televised nationally by TBS at 6:00 p.m. CT.
The radio coverage can be heard on the Blazers ISP Sports Network, beginning at 4:30 p.m. CST. Birmingham listeners can follow all the action on WYDE 101.1 FM, and WIQR 1410 AM in Montgomery.
