BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- UAB senior men's tennis player Sebastian Falk has been named to the All-Conference USA team for the second consecutive year, the league office announced Friday.
Falk, from March, Germany, has compiled a singles record of 19-4 in 2005-06 and helped the Blazers to a semifinal appearance in last week's C-USA Championship. Falk, one of six players named to the second unit of the all-conference squad, also earned second-team honors last year.
After transferring from Arkansas-Little Rock following his sophomore season, Falk immediately made an impact at UAB and has enjoyed two outstanding seasons for the Blazers. His two-year singles record is 38-14 while his doubles mark, primarily playing with partner Andre Maier, is 29-13.
The Conference USA Player of the Year was Tulsa sophomore Arnau Brugues, who is currently ranked 10th nationally in singles and helped lead the Golden Hurricane to a 4-1 upset win over top-seeded Rice in last weekend's conference final.
