BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB football team went through a practice of just less than two hours here Tuesday, working out in full pads in preparations for the Sept. 3 season-opening game at Tennessee.
Tuesday morning's practice turned out to be physical one, according to Blazer head coach Watson Brown. "I thought it was a very physical practice, especially on the offensive side," said Brown. "It was a very hot day, but I think our guys are trying to fight through it."
Brown also complimented the work of his defensive line after the morning workout. "It (defensive line) has probably been the most pleasing area of our team through the first 10 days of practice. We've managed to stay healthy there and the guys have done a great job."
The Blazers and Volunteers will open the 2005 season at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville on Sept. 3. Gametime is set for 12:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. CT and will be televised regionally by Jefferson-Pilot Sports.
