UAB Continues Success At Tiger Invitational

Clemson, S.C. ---- The UAB track and field team had another successful showing in its final meet before the Conference USA Championships at the Tiger Invitational hosted by Clemson University here this weekend. The Blazers had 22 top-ten finishes, including one first-place finish.
"The sprinters did very well in this meet, as did all the girls," said head coach Ray Stanfield. "Overall it was a very good meet as we get ready to head to the conference meet."
The 4x400-meter relay team finished in first place and the distance medley relay team finished second overall. Sophomore Oriana Carter finished third overall in the 60-meter dash and freshman Stacey Adewakun finished third in the 200-meter dash. Additionally, sophomore Erin Harris finished third in the long jump.
The Blazers will take a week off before heading to Houston, Texas for the Conference USA Championships February 24-26.
