UAB Football And United Way Kick Off 2004 Campaign

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.----- UAB head coach Watson Brown, the 2004 Blazer starters and many others will be on hand to kick off the 2004 season with United Way on Thursday, Sept. 2 at Bartow Arena. The event begins at 4:30 p.m., and all UAB employees, students and fans are invited to come enjoy free Full Moon Barbecue and soft drinks. Also joining in the festivities will be the UAB cheerleaders and Golden Girls, as ABC 33/40's James Spann will broadcast live from Bartow Arena. Reservations must be made by Sept. 1 by calling 458-2004. Every fan who reserves a spot to the event will receive a free ticket to the UAB/Baylor season-opener courtesy of ABC 33/40. The Blazers open the season at home against Baylor Sept. 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Legion Field.
