BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- The UAB football team returned to the field in preparation for its final scrimmage of the 2004 preseason here on Saturday morning. The Blazers, who had their scrimmage rained out on Friday night due to inclement weather in the area, practiced under cloudy skies. "It was a good practice today," said UAB head coach Watson Brown. "The players were into it. We put some stuff in for Baylor. It's going to be hard to go from putting in new stuff today to scrimmaging on Monday, but they can handle it. We worked on some conditioning and ran the guys pretty well. Overall, it was a good day." The Blazers will participate in their final scrimmage of the 2004 preseason on Monday, Aug. 23, at approximately 2:30 p.m. on the practice field at UAB. UAB opens the season on Saturday, Sept. 4 (6:00 p.m. CT) when the Blazers host Baylor at Legion Field.
