Football Scrimmage Postponed Due To Inclement Weather

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.----- The UAB football scrimmage, which was originally scheduled for Friday, Aug. 20, has been postponed due to inclement weather. The Blazers have moved their final scrimmage prior to the start of the regular season to Monday, Aug. 23, at approximately 2:30 p.m. The scrimmage was supposed to be a part of the UAB "Fan Day" on West Campus Field; however, the threat of bad weather cancelled the game and moved the "Fan Day" to Bartow Arena. The UAB "Fan Day" was deemed a success as Blazer fans young and hold were able to play games, receive free prizes, eat, drink, meet the football team and get autographs from their favorite UAB football players. The practice game on Monday will be the final intrasquad scrimmage before the Blazers kick off the 2004 campaign against Big XII foe Baylor at Legion Field on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m.
