"Today was our second day in preparing our gameplan for Baylor," said UAB head coach Watson Brown. "The weather and heat has been good for us because it is getting us use to what the conditions should be like at Baylor. It is making our legs a little tired, but at the same time it is also helping us out."
UAB will continue to work on its gameplan by using Saturday's practice as a substitution scrimmage. The team will work strictly on getting the players used to when they need to come in and out of the game and which players need to be in the game during a certain situation.
"Saturday we will be working strictly with substitutions," said Brown. "The players will be wearing shorts and will work on when they need to come in or out of the game. It will be an important practice, but at this point, all of our practices are important."
According to Brown, the scrimmage will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will go for approximately an hour and a half.
Following the scrimmage, beginning at 4 p.m., will be the annual "Blazer Fan Day" which will be held at the University Mini Park on University Blvd. While at "Fan Day", people are encouraged to come out and meet all the football players, as well as players from the other sports on campus. Fans will be able to obtain autographs, meet the players and enjoy many other festivities during the two-hour event.
