Men's Tennis Closes Out Spring Season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB men's tennis team finished out its spring season, falling 5-2 to Louisiana-Lafayette Monday at Brook Highland Racquet Club.
Once again, the UAB (13-8, 4-0 Conference USA) doubles tandem of Alex Jung and Tobi Klein had a solid performance in the No. 1 slot. The 41st ranked duo knocked off ULL's Johann van der Westhuizen and Michael Tarkowski, 8-6.
The Ragin' Cajuns took wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions to take the early 1-0 lead.
From there, the Blazers only took two of six singles matches. At the No. 3 spot, Jung knocked off van der Westhuizen, 6-1, 6-3. Junior George Dubrava tallied a win for the Blazers at the No. 5 slot defeating ULL's Marc Castellana, 6-1, 6-0.
The Blazers will take a little over a week's rest before heading to the C-USA Championship on April 18 in Louisville, Ky.
