BIRMINGHAM - It was a little closer than head coach Derek Tarr would have liked it, but the UAB men's tennis team edged Conference USA foe DePaul, 4-3 Wednesday at the Lakeshore Foundation Tennis Facility.
The Blazers narrowly lost the doubles point as 35th-ranked Tobi Klein and Alex Jung fell at the No. 1 spot in a tiebreaker. The Blazer duo fell 9-8 to DePaul's Andy Michael and Robert Kurek, only their fourth loss of the season. UAB also fell at the No. 3 position, allowing the Blue Demons the first point of the match.
It was at singles, the Blazers clinched the match, winning at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 positions.
