Miscellaneous Notes On the Army Game

THE GAME: Saturday, Sept. 22 at Birmingham's Legion Field (kickoff 4:00 pm CDT). Tickets are $18 (reserved)and $12 (general admission), call (205) 975-8221 for further ticket information. The game will not be televised.
PARKING LOTS, GATES TO OPEN EARLY: Parking lots at Legion Field will open at 12 noon Saturday. Most vehicles will be directed to the east side of the stadium , and a security zone of at least 200 feet will be maintained between all parking areas and the stadium. Stadium gates will open at 2:00 pm CDT.
SECURITY PRECAUTIONS: All persons entering Legion Field will be subject to random searches. Backpacks, large bags, etc., will not be allowed in the stadium.
PRIOR TO THE GAME: Both the UAB and Army teams will join the public in a moment of silence in honor of the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States, followed by the national anthem (under normal circumstances, the national anthem is played before the teams take the field).
WEARING THE COLORS: Both the UAB and Army teams will wear American flags on their game uniforms. The Blazers will have a flag decal on their helmets and a flag patch sewn on the right shoulder of their game jerseys.
BLAZER VILLAGE DEBUT: Fans of all ages will enjoy themselves at Blazer Village, which opens two hours prior to kickoff. Entertainment opportunities include live music, food and beverage, a "moonwalk" and obstacle course for the kids, autographs from UAB athletic teams, and free UAB "Dog Tags" for the first 500 kids (ages 12 and under).
