Rifle Team Places Fourth At 2001 Tiger Open

The UAB rifle team edged Conference USA rival Saint Louis, placing fourth at the 2001 Tiger Open hosted by University of Memphis. In the five team event, UAB shot a team score of 1300, just seven shots better than Saint Louis (1253). Ole Miss took the team title with a score of 1492. Memphis (1485) and University of Tennessee-Martin (1433) rounded off second and third place.
Junior Selena Bullock led the way for the Blazers shooting 343, with four bulls-eyes. Freshman Carrie Underwood was close behind shooting 338 with six bulls-eyes. Senior Ashley Fulmer and junior Mandy Leach rounded off the team score with 310 and 309 respectively.
Charles Moss of Memphis was the top collegiate shooter with a score of 384.
