UAB Overseas Update: Dirk Williams

Former UAB guard Dirk Williams recently completed his third season professionally, but first with Zalakeramia ZTE KK, a team in the Hungarian A League.
Zalakeramia ZTE KK is located in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary which lies on the banks of the Zala River, close to the Slovenian and Austrian borders.
Williams helped lead his team to a 10-11 record before the season was ended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Homewood, Ala. native averaged 17 points per game and shot 51.7 from the field. He also was second in the league in 3-point percentage with 46.8%. In 21 games, he scored in double-digits in 17 games, including a season-high 30 points with four three-pointers against Atomeromu.
Before his stop in Hungary, Williams played his first two years professionally in the United Kingdom with the Sheffield Sharks. In two years, he averaged over 18 points per game including scoring in double digits in over 90 percent of his games.
In his time at UAB, the 2016 C-USA Sixth Man of the Year was part of 43 wins including a school-record 26 wins and C-USA regular season championship during the 2015-16 season. Williams averaged 9.9 point per game in two years at UAB.
