BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB women's golf head coach Kim Wilcox has announced the addition of Tia Teiniketo to the 2018 class.
"I am excited to have Tia join our team in the fall," Wilcox said. "Her coming, along with Kendall and Lexie, will make our team better immediately."
Teiniketo joins the Blazers from Dalton State College where she has been a crucial part of a Roadrunners' squad that ranks second in the country in the NAIA rankings. Additionally, Teiniketo ranks third individually in the NAIA rankings with a 74.9 stroke average.
Prior to Dalton State, Teiniketo was a standout high school golfer at the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., where she helped the Red Raiders to two region championships and two state runner-up finishes. Individually, she placed second at the 2015 regionals and tied for second at the state championships.
Teiniketo becomes the third member of the 2018 women's golf signing class, joining Kendall Johnson of Plant City, Fla., and Lexie Dawson from Woodstock, Ga.
The Blazers continue their spring slate this weekend with a trip to Statesboro, Ga., to compete in the John Kirk Invitational set for March 25-27. Live stats will be available through GolfStat.
