MARTIN, Tenn. – The UAB rifle team took part in both the Murray State Withrow Invitational and the UT Martin Invitational over the weekend.
Murray State squeaked by Nebraska with a total of 4691 points to win the team championship despite the Cornhuskers featuring the top two individual finishers.
Sarah Grace Banks scored 559 points to lead UAB and finish 28th overall in the air rifle division. Senior Tori Brown took second for the Blazers with 522 points, while freshman Emily Stover placed third for UAB with 502 points.
In the second meet of the weekend, UAB fell to UT Martin despite Banks taking fifth overall in the air rifle division with 568 points. Stover placed second for UAB and 14th overall with a score of 517.
UAB returns to action Feb. 20 when the Blazers travel to Charleston, S.C., to take part in NCAA Sectionals hosted by The Citadel.
