The Blazers opened their home schedule Monday with a 72-70 victory over Alabama State in front of the largest student crowd in over 10 years.
Sophomore forward Chris Cokley scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to register his second straight double-double. Dirk Williams and Tosin Mehinti each added 10 points against Alabama State to help the Blazers win their 10th straight home game and 13th overall in Birmingham.
Troy ran its record to 2-0 following a 97-82 victory over Reinhardt College on Sunday. The Trojans opened the season with an 82-77 win at USF.
